forever

Hello, August. When did you show up?
I have been working on some cool stuff but I am just not quite ready to share. Except of course, this little note. It's actually part of something else, but I thought I would play with it as an idea. I was at a local store this weekend looking for a wedding card, and I was sorely disappointed in the selection. I have been looking at local and national retailers, and rather than think "I could do that", I've actually been doing it. Making things that I think they could market, contacting the appropriate people, and saying "Hi. I did this thing. What do you think?" So far, I have not gotten much response, but I just started making contact last week.

Are you someone I should talk to?

This week I hope to get some images together of a few projects from the last several weeks to share with you.

I have been really distracted with the healthcare reform debates. Actually, I don't think you can call any of it a "debate" so much as a yelling match. Not even a yelling match, mostly just people yelling and being afraid. As someone who does not have health insurance, I kind of resent the people who do have healthcare who are getting so mad. Hasn't Obama said many times that if you have health insurance already, this won't even affect you? So why are they sooooo angry? I am a self-employed, contributing member of society. I pay taxes. I take care of myself. I can't afford private health insurance. Does that mean I don't deserve health care? It just doesn't make sense to me.

i love this.

however I think, regarding healthcare, that as a currently insured American I will be affected by his plan.

I stand by the man, don't get me wrong - but we as a whole will be affected.

As David Bowie once sang:

Ch-ch-ch-ch-Changes
(Turn and face the strain)
Ch-ch-Changes
Don't want to be a richer man
Ch-ch-ch-ch-Changes
(Turn and face the strain)
Ch-ch-Changes
Just gonna have to be a different man
Time may change me
But I can't trace time

I am with you! Most artists are in this boat, with no or astronomical insurance payments. Really-how many people does it take to realise that what we've got aint' working!

The design card looks very sweet and romantic. Well, good luck on the health care debate.
