fever

Faythe Levine just posted this video to her facebook, and i had to re-post it so that I can preserve it and memorize it for my future debut as a lounge singer. or karaoke. or just in the shower. i love this song.

pretty lady

tom and i went for an evening walk last night, and this wicker rocking chair beckoned to me and made me carry it 4 blocks back to my house. We also liberated the lilac from a kindly neighbor in order to satiate my need for a lilac tree. We really don't have a place for one in our yard, but i love the aroma so much that i have to stick my head in the tree/bush every time i walk past.

have a great weekend!

p.s. don't worry - the chair was being thrown out! I bring chairs home like some people bring stray animals.

quick and easy

a little make-over for this beautiful chair from Salvation Army. I feel like I have to confess something - I broke up a set of four to get this one chair. Is it wrong? It is, but I needed only one. whew! weight off my shoulders.

Off to make krispie treats for camping tomorrow. Looks like rain, but we are going to tough it out. Back next week with updates!

hot

hooray for sunshine and warm breezes.
hooray for sprouting greens and flower buds bursting.
hooray for walks and birds chirping and herbs cut from the garden.

I have been a busy bee getting my etsy shop update in order, sending out resumés, finishing projects, and making new drawings.
This weekend will be our inaugural camping trip on the Mississippi River - I hope this weather holds out...

spring arriveth

finally. the sun has decided to join us, spreading warmth and relaxation throughout Milwaukee. We are trying to wrangle our unruly yard, and that made for a couple of visits to the garden centers this weekend.

i love coffee. i would drink it all day if it had no adverse affects, but for now i am good with two americanos...

Here is the workings of Part 2 to "Storms". They will be in the same dwelling, but not the same room. This one already looks totally different, but I am excited about my new pattern. I have been thinking a lot about inter-connectivity and social networking and idea mapping, and how in a way, all of these concepts are the same thing.

Hey, guess what? This month marks my one-year anniversary of working for myself! Technically, I have worked for many people this year, but my time is my own. To celebrate, i will be doing a complete re-design of my etsy shop, and introducing new items. Speaking of which, i have to get to work. have an awesome week.
