NYC 1988

I have a lot to do today, so I thought I would share this image of my mother in New York City, taken in 1988. Isn't she beautiful?

wood cut

The Biz Lady Meet Up last night was really great! Thanks to Grace and the other presenters, including Stephanie Wadell of Agnes and Hoss. Very inspiring and overwhelming and exciting. There were also alot of cookies available. I am taking the rest of the day to work on a new drawing and shop for my sister's Bachelorette party, which is tomorrow night. it will involve a limo, champagne, and probable viewing of male nudity and lascivious dancing.
Have a good weekend!

Wood Cut Tangle

This is actually a larger scale (about 16" x 24") wood cut print. It was for an event to benefit the Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design put on by Flux Design. They asked several local artists to create woodcuts to be printed on the day of the event by a steam roller on the street next to their space. (i'll post more pics later, if the sun ever comes out again.)

Tonight I am heading to Chicago for the Biz Lady Meet Up with Grace from Design Sponge!

vector

this is my old "stamp". I had planned to use it on an old version of a website, but never did and now i don't know what to do with it! maybe i will still use it on the portfolio site....

all and nothing

an older drawing.
"all of it is important, none of it is important"
I would love to have this blown up to poster size - maybe a screen print is in my future? Right now it is postcard size...

memories

Florence, Italy

Holiday light Installation - Turin, Italy I took this photo during the first days of my 8 months in Turin in 2003. i was there to study design for a semester and to travel for the summer following. I spent almost the entire time reading books, drawing, writing, taking photographs, and drinking cappucinos. This image shows just one of many light installations that were put up all over the city following the holidays. It came down shortly after i arrived in January.
